TRUCK-TRIALTEAM WHEELS OVER THE WORLD HAS LEST SECTION DRIVEN
Wormer 8 may 2015
dear friends
maybe I was what silent, there’s something I want to tell now……… I split it out
With a sense of melancholy, I would like to tell that to the Dutch truck trial team Wheels over the World the last section has driven. I have thought about it several times to stop the whole circus , but every time there was some motivation to go on. last year I even my transport still adapted and given a major makeover to the magirus. This decision is not easy and is definitely not obvious. Long have I thought about it, it’s a battle between the decision and my feeling. And my sense find it very hard and I know I will miss it too,  but  this will wear out.
More than twenty years I have been in the truck trial scene drove around, i was in various teams activ,  as driver, co-driver, guest driver , got in a few television programs and have from 2000 to now with my own team driven trouch  the sections. Together with Frank Langenberg driven we in 1993 as first Dutch truck trial team in the European Championships and in 1994 we were with the  Gamacoat, European champion in the class S3, just before Rudi Reicher Sr, from austria I have see Many teams come and go, and there is a few of the oer teams still active in the truck trial. Since last year, a truck trialer of the first hour, Sepp Auinger has put his truck on long parking .I have gotten the title of longest  moving participant, but not for long.
In all these years I also see the number of Dutch participants  explosive grow and decline, I’m the last of the Mohicans, the last active Dutch truckrialer stops with it. Perhaps there are new teams from the Netherlands in the future,
last year, celebrated OVS its twentyfives year anniversary , I was there too. Together with friends, other teams and various old riders and fighters, who had come especially for this purpose. At this memorable moment is the thought to stop with truck-trial just stronger, the thought left me no loose
With Dave Smit  beside me as co-driver to our team the last few years we have managed to bring the team to higher altitude, more and more we drove us in the prices, and also some first places , Dave motivate me to look otherwise to the section. Also this makes the choice to stop less easy, but stop at the height seems to be a beautiful thing. I have dave offered to sit behind the wheel, but he wants driven his own route
Stoping with something funniest , is no drama. It gives room for new stuff, I let me be surprised what there is going to come my way.
